BIOGRAPHY

Brian Clark, Psy.D.

Dr. Brian Clark is a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area. He provides therapy to adolescents, adults, and families with specialization in achievement pressure, school stress, ADHD, acting out teens, parenting support, depression, and anxiety.

A graduate of The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California, he holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Clark has practiced in the Kaiser Permanente Department of Psychiatry as well as in the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services providing therapeutic services for children and families in the Marin County school system. His other clinical experience with children and families includes psychotherapy practice at The Family Institute of Pinole, Davis Street Family Resource Center in San Leandro, and Cleo Eulau Center in Palo Alto. In 2012, he began his private practice with offices in Lafayette and Benicia.

Dr. Clark maintains an extensive interest in the effects of school achievement pressure on youth. In 2010, he authored a study on achievement pressure and its links to depression and anxiety in high school students. The study, conducted at a private San Francisco high school, examined coping behaviors as a response to achievement pressure and how they relate to feelings of closeness to parents. His treatment practices support both parents and children in developing healthy strategies for navigating achievement pressure that is so prevalent in schools and communities today.

A New England native, Dr. Clark has resided in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1995. He is a husband and parent.
